I shot this in NYC during the rehearsals for the reformed Velvet's gigs.

John Cale was less than complimentary about Lou's general demeanour before he arrived and of course Lou was as surly and non-communicative as I'd been led to expect when he did finally show up.

The rehearsal studio was a very generic space and I really wanted something New Yoik when I espied the classic outside NY fire escape.

"Let's do some shots out there" I said and we clambered out of the window without a second thought.

After we returned inside PR Girl came over to me and in hushed tones said "Oh My God, you were amazing."

"Why?" I replied, struggling to think what I had done that was worthy of such high praise.

"Getting Lou to go out on that fire escape!" was her response!
