My first music press cover shoot (for Sounds) and maybe the first real ‘star’ that I got to photograph in person.... and now, fully 40 years after the shoot, this image has been selected to be sued as the cover image for Alice's auotbiography; sure to be a rollicking good read!

This was taken just outside a hotel room bathroom, a single halogen downlighter as the light source, simplicity itself but rather an arresting image I feel; of course helped by Alice’s demeanour and make-up.

Fun Facts: Real name, Vincent Damon Furnier, born in Detroit, Michigan, born-again Christian, writer of the feminist anthem ‘Only Women Bleed’ and a semi-pro golfer.
